All Spice Cafe Gourmet Hot Sauces
Hot is hip and All Spice Cafe Gourmet Hot Sauces are about as hip as they come. I recently met with JD Cowles the mastermind behind All Spice Cafe at a tasting hosted by Delaney’s Artisan Market in Temecula.
JD and his web master John were serving up flatbread pizza with Cayenne Habanero Sauce, grilled pineapple with Caribbean Spice Sauce, and grilled asparagus with Chipotle Garlic Sauce. JD was also sampling his new Chipotle Olive Tapenade an amazing blend of Kalamata Olives, garlic, rosemary, capers and of course Chipotle peppers.
All Spice Cafe Gourmet Hot Sauces have been given several awards and accolades, including Best Hot Sauce Maker by Los Angeles magazine, several Golden Chile awards by Chile Pepper magazine, and many Scovie Awards at the National Fiery Foods and BBQ Show.
Eating and talking with JD made one thing very clear, the man loves his spice and it shows in every bottle of his Gourmet Hot Sauces.
Below is an excerpt of JD’s bio from the All Spice Cafe Web Site:
JD started making his own hot sauce more than 25 years ago. Back around 1980 there weren’t many hot sauces to choose from so JD started making his own for his grilled chicken wings (what is today known as his Cayenne Habanero Sauce).
Other variations evolved and friends eventually convinced him to bottle and sell his sauces. Entering his first competition in the fall of 2006 led to winning two Scovie Awards – 1st place for Caribbean Spice and 3rd place for Cayenne Habanero.
JD’s introduction to Chipotle in sunny California led to his Chipotle Garlic Sauce and a love of many spices has led to the Caribbean Spice Sauce.
Many people wonder where the All Spice Cafe is located? It started as a dream to own a cafe one day and being a big fan of different spices and heat JD came up with the name All Spice Cafe where spice is more about the flavor than the heat. Soon it become a virtual cafe with the hope of one day turning it into the real deal!
While it’s true that just about anyone can make a HOT sauce creating a sauce that is hot and filled with flavor is a true art form. The All Spice Cafe motto is: Not just heat… but flavor. Their motto like their sauces hits the nail on the head.
